Make the difficult call now!

Political races can provide  great teaching moments. In the current GOP run there are many issues that are brought forth. Unfortunately, in some cases, the "accused" party avoids a direct answer and the "issue" continues to fester and grow.

Think back to previous races in both parties, how many times have "issues" ( true or not true) been brought up and the individual who is "accused" does not give a direct answer. How many of these accusation have resulted in the possible loss of an election.

Perhaps with not as much fanfare, a small business owner does something either perceived as being wrong or actually makes  a mistake in the delivery of a product or service. The emotional burden carried by the business owner will take its toll; the repercussions are unknown, perhaps, deep inside, the wish is that it will go away.

Chances are, given enough time it will go away, at least from your mind. The person you neglected to call and talk about your issue can do  more damage through word of mouth then you may ever know.

No matter how small the issue, if you are thinking about it now is the time to do something. It can be a forgotten birthday, anniversary, or thank you. Or, as mentioned above, a certain transaction you did not feel comfortable about.

If the issue continues festering in your mind, your business will suffer. The solution, take action now, pick up the phone and make the call! In my experience, the call goes far better than you ever thought it could. In most cases, the mountain you made was never there and you have deepened your relationship. If you were wrong, the call shows your value system and again, a client will think more of you then before the incident.
